Project Overview:

In close partnership with Jane Gimble, we delivered a full Mercedes-Benz showroom and aftersales upgrade in Bolton, carefully shaping an environment that reflected the prestige, precision and innovation synonymous with the Mercedes-Benz brand. From the outset, the project demanded a highly considered approach, balancing strict adherence to global brand standards with the practical requirements of a live operational environment.

Working across both customer-facing and operational spaces, the programme required meticulous coordination to ensure minimal disruption to day-to-day business activities while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and on-site welfare for both staff and contractors. Every stage of the delivery process was carefully managed, with particular attention paid to sequencing, logistics and maintaining a seamless customer experience throughout the refurbishment works.

Beyond the technical execution, the project centred heavily around the customer journey and how the physical environment could reinforce the premium Mercedes-Benz experience. Through precision detailing, refined material selections and carefully considered spatial planning, the upgraded showroom was designed to create a sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere that mirrored the brand’s reputation for luxury, performance and technical excellence. The aftersales areas were equally elevated, ensuring consistency across every touchpoint of the customer experience while improving functionality for staff operations behind the scenes.

The Brief:

Marshall Group required the delivery of a flagship-scale Mercedes-Benz environment, designed and executed in full accordance with the brand’s stringent Corporate Identity (CI) guidelines. The brief demanded absolute precision across every aspect of the build, ensuring the finished space reflected the refined luxury, technical sophistication and consistency expected of the Mercedes-Benz global network.

Every detail – from floor finishes and lighting layouts to reception counters, feature wall treatments and customer-facing touchpoints – was carefully reviewed and coordinated to align with the manufacturer’s exacting standards. Working within an operational environment required a highly organised and collaborative approach, with programme management and sequencing carefully considered to minimise disruption while maintaining a premium experience for customers and staff throughout the works.

Our involvement extended beyond the core construction package, contributing practical and operational solutions that supported both the functionality and welfare of the live site. Due to challenging winter conditions, we established fully equipped temporary portacabins complete with water supply, welfare facilities and data access, ensuring the site remained safe, connected and operational for all contractors and staff. When periods of severe cold caused pipe systems to freeze, contingency measures were implemented immediately, allowing works to continue without compromising programme deadlines or operational efficiency.

The project was ultimately delivered through a proactive, detail-led process where quality, operational continuity and brand integrity remained at the forefront throughout. The completed environment not only satisfies Mercedes-Benz’s global standards, but also provides a polished and seamless customer experience that reinforces the prestige and professionalism of the Marshall Group brand.

Outcome:

The result is a contemporary automotive retail environment that not only meets Mercedes-Benz’s exacting global standards, but also enhances the overall experience for customers, staff and visitors alike – delivering a space that feels both aspirational and operationally seamless.
